Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings from the sprawling metropolis of Stony Creek, NY. If you have a good
map, look it up and see where we are at. This is beautiful country and the
meeting is off to a good start.
We have had some difficulty of late with our truck and would appreciate your
prayers. I think I e mailed everyone about the accident 2 weeks ago, we still
have not received the insurance settlement and are not sure when they will make
their ruling. After VBS at Open Door Baptist in Cassagaga, NY we headed out to
get our mail and our new generator that was waiting for us in Snow Shoe. We got
there and had to replace the Drag Link and Tie Rod ends on the front of the
truck. 75 miles after we were back on the road Thursday our clutch went out we
were able to creep into a Denny's with truck parking in Bloomsburg, PA we spent
the night there and the next morning had the truck towed to Lake Ariel, PA
(about 70 Miles) where we had someone ready to work on it. We stayed with some
friends there who had come down to cart the family up while I rode in the tow
truck. These folks also took care of the tow bill, praise the Lord, anyway we
had a good visit with them until Saturday about 9:00 PM when our truck was done
and we were ready to pull out. We had to drive all night and pulled in here at
Stony Creek about 8:30 AM and were set up and ready to go when church started at
10:00. Due to the start of VBS their Sunday format was Morning Service, Carry in
meal and Afternoon service with nothing in the evening, so we were able to get
to bed early and try to recover.
We are hoping to get a leaking axle seal and wheel cylinder and a clunk in the
front end repaired while we are here, that are the only problems we are aware of
at the present. The $750.00 we spent on repairs last week has been taken care
of, Praise the Lord and we have some left over to make the repairs this week.
August will be a busy month as Usual with meetings in NY, VT, NH, DE and PA. We
covet your prayers for safe travel, NO BREAKDOWNS, and Good meetings, September
is a Prayer Letter month so Lord willing we will bring you a full report then.
