August 1, 2009

Dear Praying Friends,

Just a quick note to fill you in as we roll into August 2009.  July found us almost exclusively in Southern Indiana.  We started the Month updating a longtime supporter, Bethel Baptist in Linton, and have been staying in their prophet's chamber as well.  We have been busy helping Grace Baptist In French Lick (a situation I told you about last month)  We have agreed to help them so I am filling the pulpit trying to keep things moving forward and directing their pastor search as well.  Things are progressing and I would hope that they will call a pastor in pretty short order and we will move on to another project.

In addition to this, the kids also helped with a VBS here at Bethel, we made a 48 hour round trip to Florida to look into a possible transportation change, Lena, David II and I made a day trip to Northern Indiana for a conference and last week I drove the kids to Michigan and dropped them off so they could go to camp.  Camp ended yesterday and the kids are staying with our pastor and his family until we get back up to Michigan (Wednesday August 5).

I told you last month that our van needed to go in the shop.  It got a new radiator as well as a new oil pressure sensor (that was leaking oil) We are certainly grateful to Bethel Baptist for covering the repair bill for us ($300)  The van is presently at about 246,000 miles and still going....we are still praying about what to do.

August will be a busy month as well, we will be in Michigan for about a week (August 5-13) during which time we will be going through our storage unit to get some things out and put some things in, Cleaning our 5th Wheel trailer from top to bottom and getting it set up to live in again and preaching  we will be at Needmore Ind. Baptist (Charlotte) Skidway Lake Baptist (Prescott) and Blessed Hope Baptist (Cheboygan)  I have the one open Wednesday open and anticipate filling it in early this week.

After that we will be back down in Indiana for a week before we head to Elgin, IL to take Lena to college (the weekend of August 23)

We certainly covet your prayers as we press on for the Lord.  Last month brought some new support as well, we will give you more information on that in our September Prayer letter.

As far as prayer requests go, the big one this month centers on the 5th Wheel and our transportation situation.  We are getting the trailer set up to live in again as a pure act of faith.  Are we going to get a truck or just have it pulled and set up somewhere?  At this point I don't know, we certainly covet your prayers for wisdom at this point.  Also please pray that our van would continue to make it safely down the road until God sees fit to remove it from service.

Several years ago I started a series of Web articles on "examining the lies of the King James attackers"  After a long hiatus there are three more installments now on the site to read them click here:

Thanks for your prayers on our behalf.  We will look forward to updating you all again soon.
