Subject: January 2005 Update

Dear Praying Friends,

Welcome to 2005, we trust that you are all alive and well as we are.  I wanted to write and catch you up on what we have been up to and some things that are coming up in the future.

We finished out GA meetings on December 9 and headed for Florida.  We made a couple of stops on the way to Avon Park, FL to do a little sightseeing and decompress a bit.  We arrived in Avon Park about the middle of the month and stayed until a few days after Christmas.  We parked at Calvary Baptist in Avon Park, which is one of our supporting churches and enjoyed spending some time there.  Carmen and I enjoyed a night out on our anniversary and we had a good Christmas.  While we were there I preached a Sunday night and a Wednesday night and played golf once (poorly I might add) with pastor Campbell.  The pastor's family and ours also spend an evening together and had a good time.

We left there and continued to head south stopping for a day in the everglades national park to look at some birds and alligators.  We shot almost 3 rolls of film and the kids learned a few things as well, one of the things we try to do on our travels is take in as many national parks and monuments as we can.  Many of them have Junior Ranger programs that the kids like to do to earn pins and patches.  We have been to 35 parks and monuments in the last 2 years.

We left south Miami yesterday. headed for Marathon, FL which is right in the middle of the Florida Keys.  This is one of the places I have always wanted to get to but have not until now.  After leaving the mainland and heading down US 1 through the Keys we were amazed by the natural beauty.  It is like no place else we have ever been and the weather is great.  I will be preaching here all day tomorrow (January 2nd) at Calvary Baptist Church of Marathon (Where we are parked) and are looking forward to meeting the pastor and people here.

As far as things to come, we are praying about taking Carmen to Mexico to see Dr. Rogers as soon as possible.  We are praying that God will work it out, but as of yet it is too early to tell if we will be able to go or not.

We are going ahead with some longer term church helps, support wise we are not where I wanted to be, but feel like God would have us to press on with this phase of our ministry.  We have been in contact with a number of churches that need help and are trying to figure out where the Lord would have us to start with these things.  Please pray with us for God's leadership in these things.

One other thing we need you to pray with us about is some missing mail.  We found out to late that I had the wrong zip code for Avon Park and due to that we have 2 peices of mail lost in the abiss, one is Christmas presents and the other is our forwarded mail with about 3 weeks of support in it.  Please pray that we can get it tracked down Quickly.

February is prayer letter month and we will let you know when the letter is posted on the web site.  If anything materializes with our mail or the Mexico trip I will keep you posted.
