Dear Praying Friends,

No matter how hard it is to believe, here we are at the half way point of 2005.  We trust that this finds you and yours doing well.

We are all doing fine, and the work here in Central GA is progressing slowly but surely.  Nothing ever seems to happen as quickly as I would like, but I have been told that slow and steady wins the race!

As usual we have much to report on so I hope that you will take a few minutes out of your schedule and read through this letter.

Update on Ayers Road Baptist

We continue to work at all that needs to be worked at here in Macon.  As I think about how to condense for you all that God is doing here I think about 4 main areas:

1) New People - Of course you know church is all about people.  And the main part of our job here is serving people.  As you will read below we have been busy with witnessing and canvassing door to door and as usually does occur with this, results have followed.  Some of the things going on in the people department are as follows:

¨ There are now 10 folks at the church that are coming regularly that were not here when we got here,

¨ We had been praying for 20 in attendance, in May we had 24 on two Sundays and 19 on a third

¨ Through the last Sunday in May there has been at least one new visitor 4 weeks in a row

¨ On the last Sunday in May there were 4 people that came on Sunday night that had never been before

2) New Programs - The work on the building is continuing.  We have cleaned and set up a room for Junior church, Carmen taught the first one of those classes    today.  Also at the present we are working on re-doing the nursery.  The old carpet has been removed and the walls have been painted.  Carmen is working on painting a garden scene on them now, when that is completed the     carpet will be laid and the ladies will hopefully find  some great buys at the local yard sales of toys and cribs and whatever else they feel needs to be in a nursery and we will be ready for the Wee ones!

Plans are in the works for a new convert/new member Sunday School Class, which we hope to have up and running within the month.

In May we started stressing church wide Soul Winning/Visitation twice a week, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.  Outside of my family we have had 6 church folks involved with a high attendance of 9 on a recent Saturday morning.  Four groups knocking on doors within half of a mile of the church, hearing things like “I never knew there was a church on that road”.

In May we also held our first monthly Men’s Prayer Breakfast which will continue the first Saturday of every month.

We are presently planning and preparing for Vacation Bible School which will be June 20-24.  We see this as a great opportunity. Please pray with us about this VBS.

3) New Praises - We have a new convert, a young man named Chris Smith trusted the Lord at his home a few weeks ago and then came to church the next night.  There is also another man named Donald Bayles who last Sunday got assurance of salvation.  God has been working and for that we are thankful.  I mentioned the visitors we have had which is another praise.  Please continue to pray that God will Bless.

 4) New Prayer Requests - Pray for the Vacation Bible School, the above mentioned folks as we begin to disciple them and then please pray for a zoning hearing we have on June 13 regarding our 5th wheel being parked at the church.  We are praying they will grant an exception and let us stay, it will sure make life much easier.

Financial Update

I guess the big news in the financial department is we are still solvent, Praise the Lord.  All of our supporters have been faithful and every month several send

extra support which is keeping us afloat.

The last several months are evidence of the fact that God’s Accounting program is the one to follow and that Matthew 6:33 is still true.

Supporters, thank you so much for your faithfulness, all that you have read about thus far would not be possible with out you doing your part.

Family News

By the time you get this Lena will have turned 14 and Emilee will be knocking on the door of 10.  I am having a hard time figuring out where the time has gone.  When we started traveling Lena was still in a car seat and Emilee was just tiny.

The kids will be wrapping up their school year in plenty of time to get Lena enrolled for the fall with Landmark,  Please pray with us that God meets this new and untimely expense.

We have all been trying to take advantage of being stationary for a while.  Often because of living on the road there are things that need to be done, or that we would like to do that we are not able to because of the travel schedule, some of these things we are doing while we are here:

¨ Lena & Emilee are taking Piano lessons from the church pianist

¨ David II & Emilee recently enjoyed a day at a free baseball camp ran by a former major league player

¨ Carmen is getting plugged in with a doctor and trying to get some help with her many health problems. Please pray with us about this.  At the present with all the physical demands she seems worse and not better but she has another appointment this next week.

¨ I have been exercising regularly trying to get in a little better shape (not that round is not a shape).  I am feeling better and seem to have more energy most of the time

Not to long ago the church here had a special Sunday evening service several of the folks sang and testified. And one of the men of the church preached.  At this service our whole family took part, Carmen and the kids sang a special, Lena sang a solo, Carmen sang with a new church
Trio.  Emilee played Piano for the offering and David II preached a good message, He is preaching better at 12 then I did at 25 (or perhaps 35)

I see my number one job not as preacher or missionary but that of Husband and Father, and from that perspective there is no greater joy than seeing the whole family serve the Lord together.
